Hallsville's 2023 Annual Performance Report
Each year, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) generates an Annual Performance Report (APR) for all districts across the state. This year’s Annual Performance Report (APR) is the second under Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP) 6, which outlines expectations for school practices and student outcomes with the goal of each student graduating ready for college, career, and life success.
The Hallsville School District was awarded an 83.8% score on the Annual Performance Report for the 2022-2023 school year. “The district has purposeful and systematic continuous improvement endeavors embedded across all buildings that are directly linked to student achievement and preparing all students for success,” Assistant Superintendent Julie Esquivel states. “In 2023, Hallsville students not only met but often exceeded the Missouri average in proficient and advanced categories. Longitudinal data further reinforces that our students consistently perform at or above state standards across various content areas and grade levels. As we navigate MSIP 6, these achievements mark a solid foundation for growth. The consistent and comparable state data will guide our journey of continuous improvement, allowing us to refine our practices and ensure every student succeeds.”
Our administration, teacher-leaders, and faculty teams continue to address changes to curricular and instructional needs to better reach all learnings. In addition, our elementary teachers continue their two-year professional development training in Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS), part of DESE’s Missouri Read, Lead, Exceed Initiative.
In addition, the Hallsville School District is committed to focusing on continuous improvement through the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), as required under MSIP 6. A review of the district’s CSIP will begin in 2024 as we update the district’s priorities in student learning, student-focused climate, excellent staff, and quality governance.
The Hallsville School District is committed to providing a comprehensive instructional program for every student to support our vision of improving lives through learning to fulfill our mission that all students will reach their potential.
