Lubbock-Cooper Central Elementary

As of this moment, we anticipate road closures around Central Elementary remaining through the start of the school year. While our dismissal process has not changed at all from last year, Norfolk will not be open so all traffic for 3rd - 5th grade pick up will have to enter the neighborhood through Knoxville. We ask that all of our parents review the temporary flow of traffic and instructions below in order to help us have a successful dismissal start for the 2023 - 2024 school year!

You can only access 1585/the neighborhood from Quaker, Knoxville, or Indiana.

The 3rd-5th pick up zone will line 133rd street to enter and exit using 133rd street. (Blue path on the map above.)

The PK/K pick up zone will line 134th street to enter and exit using 134th street. (Purple path on the map above.)

The 1st/2nd pick up zone will line 135th street to enter and exit using 135th street. (Orange path on the map above.)

You will still pick up your child in the zone of the grade of your youngest student at Central.

*It may be a good use of your time to test drive your family's route before the first day of school to have an idea of the area!*

General Reminders:

-Be sure you have picked up your Car Rider Pro tags at Open House or in the front office before pick-up on the first day of school.

-Car Rider Pro tags hang on the rearview mirror of your car. Be sure to have it up when you are near the line so the reader scans your information.

-Drive Up dismissal will begin at 3:20pm.

-Please be sure your child's teacher knows your desired plan for getting your child home safely.

-Anticipate delays! We prioritize student safety and will ensure dismissal is safe and gets every child where they are supposed to be.

-Be cautious and courteous of other drivers in the neighborhood. There will be a lot of cars on those tiny side streets, and we encourage everyone to use extreme caution.

All students will have their picture taken on Friday, August 18th. To preorder, scan the QR code on the flyer above or wait until the proof is sent home with your child in approximately 2 weeks.
