Message from Mr. Flohr
I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. We have two more weeks of Monday through Thursday hours until we transition back to five days a week.
In this edition, you'll see information about the upcoming lunch and breakfast prices, Open House, and some details on the changes to our drop off and pickup procedures for this year.
Finally, information about your child's placement will be available on Skyward on August 9. Originally, it was posted for a different date on Facebook, but that had to change due to a technology issue.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the office.
Yours in learning,
Mr. Flohr

Volunteer Information
The School Board approved updates to our volunteer policy. All of this information is located in our school website. To summarize, volunteers must complete an application that will place them into one of two categories:
- Position Volunteer: This volunteer would be directly responsible for the welfare of our students. Examples of this type of position would include chaperones and tutors. If a parent is applying for this type of volunteer, they must have clearances, TB test, etc prior to being approved by the School Board. It is imperative that you begin the process of this application as soon as possible to ensure that you are on a School Board agenda prior to the event that you wish to participate in.
- Guest Volunteer: This volunteer would be working directly under the supervision and direction of a member of the school staff. An example of this type of volunteer could include parent volunteers. If a parent is applying for this type of volunteer, they do not need clearances or TB test, but they would need approval from the building principal or designee.
If you're interested in being a volunteer, please complete the application below. We will have paper copies of these available in the office area as well as Open House.

Summer Enrichment Opportunities
If you need paper copies of any of the materials included with this, please contact Mr. Flohr and we will arrange a way to get it to you.
Reading:
Attached below is a reading log for your child to complete each day that they read at least 15 minutes. Simply color in each circle for those 15 minutes read. Around the outside of the sheet are different activities to provide some variety to your reading routines. If you need suggestions for different books, please visit the Coy Public Library in Shippensburg.
Math:
Attached below are different game boards and activities from Greg Tang Summer Math Challenges. For each board that is completed, your child can be entered to win an autographed copy of a book from Greg Tang as well as a prize from Mr. Flohr. Simply select a board that fits best with your child's ability.
Our math coach, Mrs. Schmus, provided students with the opportunity to practice math as well. Complete 900 minutes of math to earn a prize from her at the start of the school year.
Again, this optional opportunity is another chance for your child to engage in meaningful learning over the summer. We hope everyone enjoys this opportunity! Please reach out if there are any questions.
