Principal's Message
Clairmont Bulldog Families,
It is our last week prior to our much deserved Spring Break! We have a busy week for our students: Monday they will be attending our Nutritional Education Farmers Market on campus. Thursday many of our students who have been demonstrating our BARK expectations will be going on the BARK fun trip. Friday we are going to cancel our Friday Flag Salute, due to honoring our award recipients for our Trimester 2 awards assemblies.
As the end of the school year draws near, it is vitally important to remind our students of the academic and behavioral expectations. We have a number of fun activities and events planned for the end of the school year. These activities/events are open to all students, however, if their behavior does not meet our expectations they will not be allowed to participate. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. Together, we can ensure their success both inside and outside the classroom.
Continue to work with your students to focus on our core values: Be Respectful, Act Responsibly, Remember Safety, and Kindness Matters!
Best,
Ms. Shorter

iReady: We are excited to inform you that your children have recently completed the middle of the year reading and math diagnostics through i-Ready, an adaptive assessment program by Curriculum Associates. These diagnostics are designed to identify your child's strengths and areas for growth in these crucial subjects. We believe that this valuable data will help us tailor our instructional approach to better support your child's academic journey.
To review your child's data and gain insights into their performance, we invite you to access the flyer provided at the following links:
English Letter for Families
Spanish Letter for Families
This flyer will provide you with detailed instructions on how to navigate and interpret the i-Ready diagnostic results. Your active involvement in this process is greatly appreciated and will contribute to your child's educational success.
Statewide Assessments: Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures such as grades, class work, and teacher observations, these tests give families and teachers a more complete picture of their child’s learning. You can use the results to identify where your child is doing well and where they might need more support.
Your child may be taking one or more of the following:
- California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) A Parents Guide to Understanding CAASPP (3rd-6th grade only)
- English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) A Parents Guide to Understanding ELPAC (English Learners only)
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT) A Parents Guide to Understanding PFT (5th grade only)
To see the full information on the above assessments, please visit our Assessment, Research, and Evaluation (ARE) Department website.
