Grandparents' Day Reminders
Pre-Registration and Secure Check-In:
We are asking grandparents to pre-register to help expedite the sign-in process. They can still attend if they do not pre-register, but they will need a background check run upon arrival to be permitted in the building. This can slow their check-in time. Click here to pre-register! Even with pre-registration, all visitors must present a government issued ID to be admitted to the school. Please do not leave home without it.
Parking & Entrances:
EAST LOT: Parking is available in the bus lot to the east of the building until 2:15pm.
SOUTH DRIVE: Only grandparents who plan to pick up their grandchildren at dismissal are encouraged to park in the new south drive (enter at the far south entrance off of 75). There are 3 entry lanes, so there is ample parking for all who are able to walk from this area. This is our car rider pick up area for dismissal. If you do not plan to stay for dismissal, you'll want to avoid parking in our south drive. Please note that students will not be signed out to leave early that day. If you plan to take your grandchildren from school, you'll need to proceed through this car rider line to pick them up at our regular dismissal.
NORTH PARKING/MILL STREET: There is limited parking in front of the building. We encourage you to keep that area free for special parking needs and handicap accessibility.
We will have 4 visitor sign-in stations located at the following entrances:
From the east parking lot: the northeast and the southeast doors, just like last year
From the south drive: the new south doors, under the canopy
From Mill Street: the front entrance.
PTO Raffle: Our PTO will be at all check-in locations to offer chances to win prime parking and seating at the Christmas program in December! Funds raised by the PTO are used to provide special programs for students, supplies for classroom projects, school shirts for every student, and so much more! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase with cash only. The drawing will occur at the end of our program!
Dismissal: Grandparents who would like to take their grandchildren home from school this day should plan to do so as part of our regular dismissal process. We will not be signing students out in the office or releasing them to grandparents from the classroom. At the conclusion of the program, students will return to their classrooms to pack up. Once classes have cleared the hallway, grandparents will be released to exit the building. It is imperative that our east lot is free of cars by 2:15 so school busses can line up there for dismissal. Grandparents who wish to pick up their grandchildren from school this day will need to enter the south drive (car rider pick up lanes) and follow our dismissal procedures. Parent/guardian consent must be provided in order for students to be released to grandparents, unless that is the typical dismissal routine. Parents must give consent for dismissal changes by contacting the teacher via email or written note prior to Grandparents' Day.
