Mountain View Weekly Update
January 21
Reminders from Mrs. Toth
- The turnaround time to implement virtual instruction, should your child be eligible, is 24 hours. Parents should be communicating directly with Mrs. Austenberg and Mrs. Toth, who will, in turn, make a determination, and then communicate with the staff. Administration again kindly asks that students refrain from contacting their teachers to request or inform them of virtual instruction. Doing so causes confusion amongst the teaching staff and unnecessary phone calls to the Main Office and Mrs. Austenberg.
- Synchronous virtual instruction (via Google Meet) is limited to Core classes. Students should check their Related Arts Google Classrooms and communicate with their teachers to see if any work can be done independently while virtual.
As always, your support is appreciated.

A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone enjoyed their week, and is looking forward to utilizing the weekend to relax, reset and have some fun (and hopefully stay warm!). As the marking period comes to a close, it is important to reflect upon our successes and hardships and uncover what we may have learned about ourselves in the process. Reflection is an important part of self-awareness (one of our core SEL Competencies) and can help us to set goals for ourselves at various times in the year (not just our New Year's Resolutions!). Self-reflection also allows us to shift our mindset, learn more about ourselves and how we handle and respond to different things, and to become more intentional. Take time to reflect with your child this weekend. Ask them about their highs and lows of the marking period, and the year thus far in terms of their social circles, academics, emotions, and activities. See if you can help them to brainstorm some goals or areas for growth, and help them to celebrate all of their highs (They can keep their goals in mind for our next advisory lesson!). Enjoy your weekend.
