Broad Run's Monthly Newsletter December, 2023
From the Principal
December is here, and it is a busy three and a half weeks between holidays. Winter sports are in full swing, as well as numerous concerts, holiday events, and club activities. Thank you to our National Honor Society for hosting our annual Holiday Party on December 15, and our Student Council Association for the annual Jingle Bell Banquet on December 4. I also want to congratulate our top 5% seniors who are being recognized on December 14. Our student led holiday concert is December 19.
December 4 is our interim time for Q2. As we wind down the first semester, we will begin our planning for the 2024-2025 school year. Significant time is spent working with students to select courses in balance with a challenging load and on course to graduation. Please be sure to check messages for information nights and updates. Finally, the school calendar for 2024--2025 has been adopted and is on the LCPS web site.
Thank you for your continued support,
David Spage, Principal

DC Field Trip for Broad Run Classes
The Latin American, Russian, and Survey of African History classes went to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC. Students enjoyed spending the day walking through exhibits exploring contributions from language, music, sports, film and more!
World Language Clubs Celebrate the Holidays
The German, French and Spanish clubs celebrated the holidays by making gingerbread houses, using poptarts, icing and candy to decorate. Many "houses" were built, and most were consumed by the builders.
