Welcome to 2024! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Students you all did a good job the first semester. As we start the second semester it is time to quickly dig into the hard work of developing your academic skills. This second semester will go by quickly.

If you are planning on making new years resolutions here is a quote from one of my favorite books Atomic Habits for you to consider:

"New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results."

If you want to have different results, change your habits to create the success you are looking for. If you want to have better grades and go to college, what study habits are you working on? If you want to earn a certification to help you enter the workforce, are you putting in the effort to prepare appropriately? If you want to have more success on the field, in the band, or on a CDE team, what habits do you need to change to make that happen?

Congratulations to Reagan Cottle for making the Texas Music Educator Association All State Band!

Congratulations to our girls soccer team for winning the Rockdale soccer tournament!

Congratulations to our boys soccer team for racking up two wins and a 5th place finish at the Cameron Tournament!

Congratulations to our Powerlifting teams for their recent success at Lehman High School! FHS was the only 3A school at the competition and represented well against the much larger schools.

Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the girls soccer team competed at the 1st Annual Rockdale Tournament and came home champions! The girls played in and won all 5 games with only 1 goal getting past our goalie Jasmine Bonilla. Ella Morrison was our top scorer of the tournament with 9 total goals, Natalie Juarez had a beautiful PK goal along with 2 other goals for a total of 3 this tournament, and Emily Carbajal and Natali Morales had a goal in our championship game.

The girls beat:

Manor New Tech 4-1

Caldwell 2-0

Bryan 1-0

Hempstead 2-0

Rice 6-0

They did an amazing job!
