Celebrating another week at Berryton Elementary School
A few things I have observed and experienced over the past few weeks:
- Veteran's Day- We had a great time honoring over 30 veterans who graced us with their presence at our assembly on Monday. Students did a great job of showing respect and celebrating our veterans. Our students also performed music from all the branches of our Armed Forces as well as some patriotic favorites.
- Art- Mrs. Foster's Preschool students are preparing for our BES Craft Fair by making bracelets and art that will be sold to raise funds towards getting new tricycles.
- Native American Research- Our 5th graders are spending tremendous amounts of time researching various Native American groups.
- Creation Station- Students in Mrs. Edwards first grade classroom spent time designing and creating various structures with everyday materials. Our Buffalo staff and students are so creative!
- Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum- This was the first year for our 4th graders to head to Abilene and see the Eisenhower presidential library and museum. We had a great time exploring primary and secondary sources as well as seeing President Eisenhower's childhood home.
- Homemade Pumpkin Pie- Yesterday I served pumpkin pie to all of our students that took hot lunch. The pie was delicious and our students had excellent manners.
Today we will kick off the Major Saver fundraiser at 1:45. I have attached a pdf below which details exactly what specials are included for the Major Saver card. Recently we have seen an increase in students with illnesses so I shared a link which details when students should stay home due to illness and when they are safe to return.
It's great to be a Berryton Buffalo,
