Rotary Grants Make Legacy Training Center Possible
2021 marked a year of planning and preparation. Last January, Becky Lindemann of Gaylord Rotary and FARM Haiti embarked on a year-long journey of grant writing, research, drafting plans, and pricing supplies. Countless hours have finally paid off and we are pleased to announce that we were the recipient of two Rotary grants! With the District Grant, along with many private donations, the Legacy Training Center is almost complete.
The Global Grant will provide funding for the furnishings, solar power system, well, 3-wheeler, and training for farmers and agronomists.
Our deepest thanks to Becky and Gaylord Rotary Club #2115, numerous Clubs in Districts 5950 and 5960, Pignon-Haiti Club 51983, and our generous donors for making this possible. We are honored you chose us and are excited for what this will bring to Haiti.
The Legacy Center - 42 Days Dirt to Ceiling
In a quick 42 days, the foundation, walls, and roof were constructed. Quite extraordinary, considering all labor is manual. Many people were employed, adding much needed jobs to our community. Our contractor is a man of peace and had the difficult job of selecting workers from the dozens who show up each day, hoping for "a chance at life".
The Legacy Center has 2 dorm rooms, sleeping up to 16 people, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, office and large open-sided training room.
Partner With Us
Projects funded by grants are wonderful and we still need regular supporters to continue funding our daily operating budget. Donate to the general fund or pick a specific function to support.
We need 30 monthly supporters of $75 to pay and feed our hard working staff. Will you be one?
