Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
We had a great first week back from the Thanksgiving Break. I am proud of our students for getting back into their routines to sustain and enhance their learning, and grateful to our teachers and staff for their commitment to ensuring the last four weeks of the semester are successful and impactful for our students. As we approach final exams during the week of December 18th, these next few weeks of school are very important for our students to maintain high focus and accountability for academic success. Thank you for your continued partnership in the success and wellbeing of your child(ren).
I am excited to share that the Erie High School Education Foundation scholarship application window for the Class of 2024 has opened as of Friday, December 1st. This year, the EHSEF is committed to granting at least $85,000 worth of scholarships to members of the EHS Class of 2024 and recent EHS graduates to continue their studies after high school. What an incredible opportunity for our students! Please encourage your senior students to apply for these available scholarships through our new online application system.
Over the course of the past few weeks, our Erie High School football team has made an incredible run through the CHSAA 4A state football playoffs, earning victories over Rampart High School, Dakota Ridge High School, and Montrose High School. As a result, they have earned a place in the 2023 Class 4A state championship game at Canvas Stadium on the campus of CSU where they will play Palmer Ridge High School at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 2nd. I wish our team the very best in this game, and hope to see an incredible turnout from the Erie community to support our student-athletes. You can find additional information about the game, tickets, and game day logistics here.
Next week, our Erie High School Cheer & Dance teams will compete for the 2023 state championships at the Denver Coliseum. Coming off Front Range League championships for both programs, I am excited to see how well both teams will do at the state meet. To learn more about the purchasing tickets and the competition logistics, please visit this webpage.
Good luck to all of our Tigers in these upcoming state competitions! I look forward to seeing our incredible community turn out in support of our students as they compete in the upcoming weeks.
I appreciate your continued support and commitment to the success of your child(ren). I hope that you and your family have a wonderful weekend.
Go Tigers!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin

Erie volleyball hosted its first-ever 5A regional finishing the season with an 18-7 record. Mackenzie's leadership with the team had a major role in the success of the Tigers this year. She motivated her teammates to be the best versions of themselves because she is the best version of herself, on and off the court. She tallied an incredible 207 blocks with 192 kills during the 2023 season. Congratulations to Mackenzie and all the Tigers on an incredible season.
