Principal's Message
Broad Run Families,
It is hard to believe we are winding down the first quarter. Homecoming was a success. Congrats to all the students, faculty, and community involved. We are getting ready to host our annual Hall of Fame Night, and the week following is Pink Week. Always something great going on!
Students in grades 9-11 will take the PSAT test on October 10 (note this is a Tuesday). They will need a charged Chromebook for the test. Seniors should check their email for activities available that day. If you go to the BRHS web page and look under "School Information" and/or "Class of 2024," you will find the latest information available for the school and community. This includes senior pictures and underclass make ups, upcoming events, and much more.
On October 10 we will also have our next PTSO meeting at 7 p.m. in the school library. We hope to see you there. The end of the first quarter is on October 27. Finish strong, Spartans!

Broad Run HS
SAT and ACT at Broad Run
Broad Run will host the SAT and the ACT multiple times this school year. If you would like your child to take the SAT and/or ACT register soon, as Broad Run is a popular testing location and fills up quickly. Here are the dates for the remainder of the school year:
March 9 – SAT
April 13 – ACT
May 4 – SAT
June 1 – SAT
Broad Run Hall of Fame
Broad Run High School will induct its next class into the Broad Run Athletic Hall of Fame on October 6, 2023. Events will begin with a reception consisting of light fare for inductees and their families starting at 5 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The Hall of Fame Ceremony will follow at 6 p.m. After the ceremony, inductees and their families will go to the Hall of Fame area located outside of the Main Gym for photo opportunities.
At 6:30 p.m., Broad Run’s gymnasium will officially be named in honor of 2023 Hall of Fame member, John Costello, former Broad Run teacher and coach.
The football game vs Heritage High School will kick off at 7 p.m. 2023 Hall of Fame members will be recognized at halftime of the football game.
The Class of 2023 Broad Run Athletic Hall of Fame members include the following:
Brad Bauder (Class of 1999) – Baseball, Basketball
John Costello (1997-2022) – Coach, Contributor
Eric Hiatt (Class of 2011) - Track and Field, Basketball, Cross Country
Ashley Kramer Kotchin (Class of 2008) - Softball
Eric Madigan – (Class of 2008) - Lacrosse, Football
