Principal's Message

Sunny Heights Families,

Tomorrow night is the Sweetheart Dance @ Sunny Heights Elementary! We are very excited to see our student, families, and staff enjoying music, dancing, and having a great time together. The dance is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm tomorrow night, please enter through Door 1.

The staff and students continue to celebrate and honor Black History Month in our classrooms and throughout the school. We invite all of our families to come to Sunny Heights on Tuesday, February 25th at 6:00 pm for the Black History Living Museum hosted by our 2nd grade. The Living Museum is a great A for our students, staff, and families....do not miss it!

February Family of the Month

Each month, beginning this year, we are honoring one of our wonderful families. The families will be selected based on the following criteria: Parent or guardian must be a PTA member; students must have good attendance; the family must exhibit C.O.R.E. behavior at all times when in the building. The family of Cassidy Carroll was awarded tickets to the Zoo. Congratulations to the February family of the month!

Sunny Celebration Volunteers needed

If you are available to help, on Friday, March 20th, we will be having our next Sunny Celebration. This is a fun time for our students to "spend" their C.O.R.E. bucks with various activities during their allotted time. There are forms in the office that can be filled and returned stating that you wish to help. Please bring your government issued ID if you have not provided it to the office as of yet.

School Weather Closings

The time of the year when school can be delayed or closed due to weather conditions is coming up. If there is a delay or closing, you will receive a call from our automated calling system to the phone number you provided to our school. Please be sure the office has your current phone number.

WINTER OUTDOOR RECESS

It is that time of the year when we need to make sure our children have appropriate clothing for recess. We will be going outside for recess if the temperature and the wind chill are above 20 degrees.
