COVID-19 updates and reminders:
- The Commonwealth intends to vaccinate all school employees and contractors by the end of March and make the vaccine available in tiers based on supply availability. We expect up to 96,000 vaccines to be available statewide as soon as next week. We then expect several hundred thousand more to be made available in the weeks that follow.
- The Commonwealth’s vaccine survey for school employees and contractors closed at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 5th. The next steps now include CSSD sorting and prioritizing the data to facilitate scheduling appointments for school employees and contractors (essential workers).
- Per previous communications, and as articulated during the last school board meeting, per the board member's questions during the meeting, the vaccination is only for school employees and contractors (essential workers). This decision and declaration is from the Commonwealth and not a local decision. Vaccine allocations per school entity have been established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) based on an equitable and prioritized system. Anyone who signed up who is not a school employee or contractor of CSD is not eligible, and we are required to remove them from our list as it could cause someone who is entitled to the vaccine not to receive the vaccine.
- Those of you who indicated an interest in being vaccinated through this opportunity, stay alert for emails from the Commonwealth’s scheduling system to pick your preferred date and time. The date and time you will receive this scheduling email are not yet known. Please check your SPAM folder.
- If you indicated on the survey that you wish to be vaccinated and do not receive an email to schedule an appointment during this first tier, we expect you to receive one in the coming weeks.
- We believe that vaccinations could begin onsite at the Bucks IU as soon as this coming Wednesday.
- The tentative vaccine administration schedule for the Bucks IU:
- We ask that all CSD employees and contractors being vaccinated schedule their appointments around work obligations to ensure that our students remain supported during the school day.
Wednesday, March 10th through Wednesday, March 17th
Mondays through Fridays: 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00AM - 8:00PM
- If you wish to be vaccinated and did not complete the required survey in time, the Commonwealth has indicated that a new survey window may open in the future. You will be able to indicate your interest at that time.
- If you wish to be vaccinated but completed the initial survey incorrectly, the Commonwealth has indicated that a new survey window may open in the future. You will be able to indicate your interest at that time.
- The vaccine allocations per school entity have been established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) based on an equitable and prioritized system.
- CSD only receives a percentage of the vaccines we need for our staff and contractors to receive appointments for this first tier beginning the week of March 8th.
- As previously communicated and shared, the first tier of eligibility will be for those school employees and contractors who support special education programs, English language learners, district and IU-run Pre-K programs, and elementary school students. As mentioned previously, these Tier One employees and contractors may be vaccinated starting the week of March 8th.
