Lincoln Leadership Club
Is Coming This Year!
What Is Leadership Club?
We believe the skills and knowledge gained through cooperative learning experiences is a WIN-WIN for the student and our school! It is our goal to provide FUN, hands-on, age-appropriate experiences which create a strong foundation for personal, social and academic success. By offering a safe and nurturing environment for kids to take "safe risks," students often feel empowered and excited to step out of their "comfort" zone and continue trying new things.
Key Principles of Lincoln's Leadership Club Are:
1. Acceptance and positive attitudes
2. Developing social skills & self-esteem
2. Serving others is a WIN-WIN for all
3. Acts of Kindness at school and in our community
3. Fostering an amazing school environment where all students feel safe, accepted and excited to be a Lincoln Bullpup!
There is no cost and student activities will take place during their school day. Please feel free to contact Scott Botten (Lincoln Counselor) if you have any questions.
How Does Lincoln's Leadership Clubs work?
Children are given the opportunity to sign up for student leadership club at the start of the school year. There will be two different clubs, one specifically for 4th and 5th graders. Any student in 4th and 5th grade is welcome to join and attend club activities.
It is our goal to hold two meetings per month, with Mr. Botten as the club leader. Meetings & activities will take place during the student's lunch and lunch recess. Leadership Club students are asked to attend ONE monthly meeting over their recess period (1/2 hour session). Meetings entail various leadership lessons, team building work, or possibly, a guest speaker who works with students on various topics highlighting leadership skills.
Students who are interested will be asked to complete a registration form and get parental or guardian permission. More information to come...!
