Pink Out Funds Donated

On Thursday, November 9th, members of the Akron Volleyball, Akron Football, and Akron Pom team presented Bev Stafford, founder of Encouraging Sisters, with a check for $2,900. This was the money they raised during their Pink Out event in October.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Building Trades

Our Building Trades class has been busy putting up welcome signs at our four main entrances into town. The Akron Lion's Club has been a great supporter of this project as well.

FFA Hired Hand Sale

The Akron FFA Chapter held their annual member sale and oyster fry on November 15th. 56 FFA members, along with advisor, Mollie Dreitz, were auctioned off in exchange for an eight hour work day. The chapter earned $31,000. What an amazing community of supporters we have!

New Class of FFA Members

Akron FFA freshmen received their new jackets this week. We are excited to see where each of their jackets take them.

League Choir

On Tuesday, 12 MS students and 7 HS students attended League Choir in the new Sedgwick County School in Julesburg. They spent the entire day rehearsing their songs followed by a concert in the evening. Ms. Lowry was the accompanist for the high school. Ms. Lowry and all of her students represented Akron extremely well and we are proud of all of them!

Ultimate Summit

Three middle school and six high school students enjoyed a fun and educational day at the Ultimate Summit on Thursday in Yuma. Students were able to take tours of three different ag related locations, Agri-Inject, CHS shuttle, and CHS drones. They were able to see the integration of technology in agricultural fields such as drones, use of AI, and chemigation and fertigation through irrigation systems.

Middle School Boys Basketball

The Akron Rams MS basketball teams all played well against the visiting Sterling Tigers on Tuesday night. The A squad came out on top 36 - 11. The boys will host Idalia on Friday.
