It was so exciting to end our week with snow!! The kids had a blast making snowmen and preparing the sledding hill! It was great to see kids dressed for the weather so they could truly enjoy their time outside. If you need any support getting winter gear for you kiddo please just let us know. If you find there is gear missing please make sure you check out the lost and found pictures below. We have a lot of hats, gloves, coats, and snowpants that are looking for their owners! And single shoes......no idea how you lose 1 shoe but we have quite a growing collection! :)

I am so excited for our STEAM night! We will have special guests coming in to share some really fun activities. Families will be able to pick up their STEAM PASSPORT and then go around and participate in a bunch of fun activities and get to stamp their passport. At the end of the night they can turn in their passport for a small prize. The doors are open from 5:30-7:30.

Please keep in mind THIS IS NOT A FUN NIGHT and families are required to come with their students. There is no cost to this event and we will not be serving food so please grab dinner or a snack before you come. :)

Activities: Seaweed Bookmark Making, Marine Debris Obstacle Course, Live Snake visit, Slime Making, Fish Prints, Robot Coding, Take-Apart Station, Fish Fling, and so much more!

We are seeing a lot of colds which are not Covid but share many of the same symptoms. And these colds tend to hang on for a couple of weeks with lingering coughs and soar throats. We also had several kiddos home with a stomach bug the last few days! I just wanted to give you a heads up, especially with the stomach bug, just in case your kiddo says they feel yucky. It hits fast but luckily it seems to be a day or so and then it is gone.

If you are planning a trip or know you will be out for more than three days please complete the long term absence form found on our website and return it as soon as possible. Teachers are not required to give work to students who are traveling but students are required to make up any missed work once they return. By giving us a heads up you help your child's teacher plan for what that work might look like (and they may have work for students to do while they are gone but again, that is not required). Thank you so much for helping us prepare.

It is also very helpful when you call to let us know you child is not going to be in school. Each morning we call all families of students who are marked as unexcused absent. This is for the safety of our students and families. If you call us, we won't call you. :)

And finally, attendance really does matter. Much of the learning in elementary school is done with the support and guidance of teachers, very little is truly independent work. When your child misses class they miss out on important learning time that can't be made up with worksheets. If you need support getting your child to school please reach out to our counselor Ms. Jem for assistance. We are here to help.

As the weather turns to snow it is more important than ever to be cautiuos when picking up your children. Our teachers walk kids out and are on deck to help walk kids to cars safely but the snow adds a whole other layer to that process. When you pull in please stay in your car at all times. We will be directing cars to move forward as much as possible as kids are picked up so that we do not block traffic trying to pull in of Glacier Hwy. If you want to get out and meet your child please park off campus and walk over. If your child likes to stay and play for a bit on the playground, please park off campus while you wait. Also be aware, if you park in our parking lot you will be blocked in until about 2:45 as we are loading kids onto busses and can't have cars pulling out between busses.
