Happy Homecoming Week!
We are in full swing of the school year and super EXCITED for the first homecoming week in 3 years! We have a lot of fun activities
In addition to homecoming this week, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Erika Burkhart to the CTMS Family. Mrs. Burkhart will officially start on Wednesday as our new Assistant Principal- overseeing students with last names M-Z and the Social Studies and English Curriculums.
Below we have laid out some reminders for students for their experience with the Pep Rally and the Dance. Please take a few moments to read over them with your student. We will be reviewing them in school, however, we would appreciate your support as well.
Reminder of school picture day October 26 and 27!

A message from Mrs. Burkhart:
Charles Town Panthers,
My name is Erika Burkhart. It is a pleasure to be your Assistant Principal and to be a part of this wonderful team.
I have been a teacher for fifteen years in Berkeley County. I spent most of those fifteen years at South Middle School teaching seventh grade reading. I am genuinely excited to call Charles Town Middle my new home. I currently live and grew up in Martinsburg, where most of my family still resides.
When I am not at school I spend my time with my husband, three children, and our yellow lab, Flash. Some of the things that I enjoy doing are watching my oldest kiddo playing volleyball at Martinsburg High School and watching a good tennis match on T.V. If I get some time to myself, I enjoy taking walks outside when the weather is nice and warm or walking around and shopping. Although I do not teach reading to middle schoolers anymore; I still enjoy keeping up with the latest Young Adult books.
Let’s make it a great school year Panthers!
Erika Burkhart
