Plano Middle School Weekly Update

Plano Middle School is excited to announce the creation of our first ever Esports (Competitive Gaming) club. We would like to gauge the level of student interest before we begin meeting so that we may best meet the needs of our club members. If you are interested in joining the club, please complete the interest survey linked here. Students who complete the interest survey will receive follow up information about the first meeting. With the start of the school always comes some adjustments. Transportation Department is having to adjust pick up times in the morning in order to get students to school on time. Emails were sent out by the transportation department this week with information about new bus pick up times. Please be sure to check your email if your student rides a bus to school. Contact the transportation department with any questions at 630-552-8980.

Starting September 6th, Mondays through Thursdays from 3:10-4:10pm!

Homework Club is a great opportunity for students to get homework done. Teaching staff is available to provide extra help, dedicated time, or workspace for your homework/projects! Homework Club meets in room 149.

Also a great option for students who have been absent to get caught up. Teachers will be available during homework club to go over concepts students may have missed during absences.

Students do not need to sign up for homework club. They just need to show up. All are welcome!

Begins September 6th! The Activity Bus leaves Plano MS at 4:15 Monday - Thursday and drops students at designated locations throughout Plano. The activity bus is for students participating in an after school activity at Plano MS. For example: Homework club, IMSA Fusion, or other after school clubs. The Activity bus is not public transportation for students who decide to stay in town after school and catch the activity bus for a ride home at 4:10.

How and Where do I check my students Grades?

Schoology is used as our active gradebook. To check your student's grades on a daily or weekly basis make sure you have an active Schoology account and have access to see your student's classes, assignments and grades. PowerSchool gradebook is updated for mid term and end of term grade reporting, but it is not the go to to check in on daily progress. If you do not have a Schoology account see the links below to set one up. When setting up your account if you need an access code please email your students Advisory teacher for the code or call the main office.

If your student is absent due to illness or other reasons:

To stay up to date with class work, students should check Schoology pages daily to access assignments, lessons, and activities during their absence. Contact teachers directly via email with any questions related to school work.
