Mountain View Weekly Update
December 9
Announcements & Updates
- Fifth grade mid-marking period progress reports were distributed today.
- Mountain View Middle School is once again participating in the "One Judge One School" program, sponsored by the Morris/Sussex Vicinage. The program is designed to build relationships between judges and schools, educate students on the legal system, and foster positive interactions between students and members of the Bench. Students will also learn about various career opportunities in the court. On December 16, 8th graders will meet with Hon. Claudia R. Jones, J.S.C., the first of three meetings throughout the year.
- Per Board of Education policy 2430, students must maintain passing grades (minimum 63%) in all classes to participate in Interscholastic Sports. Grades will be checked on December 20, the midpoint of the Winter season, and those students who do not meet the criteria will be ineligible to participate in athletics until their academic performance improves.
A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had a great week. Middle school is an important time for students to develop resilience and understand that the obstacles that we all face in life help us to cultivate success and growth. With each obstacle we face, we learn how to better handle future challenges and mistakes. Check out this article from the Screenagers Blog about nurturing mental strength in children. Try out some of the discussion topics at the bottom of the article at home over the weekend. Have a great weekend.
