Scripture For Grief, Recovery, & Joy for February 18

Today's Prayer
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2 ESV
Today's Guide
When preparing for today, think about the following: It is in the Quiet Moments that We Can Hear His Still Small Voice.
Food For Thought
Life can throw us for a loop, and it's easy to get caught up in the wave of emotions that come with trauma, loss, and grief. No matter what season of life you're in, today's Psalm reminds us to keep our eyes on the Lord who created Heaven and Earth.
Pause and think about that and I mean really think about that. He made Heaven and Earth and thought of you. He made provision for you to be with Him one day in Heaven thousands of years ago on a cross. He cares for you and believes in you. Yet we give up so quickly when He doesn't answer our prayers the way we want. Have faith in Him to provide whatever it is that you need, not at the moment you want it, but at the moment you need it, and in a way you need it.
As you go through your day, listen for His still, small voice, His whispers. The more you lean into Him, the easier it is to hear Him. The easier it is to see through even our trials and tribulations that He has made provision. Put your faith in Him and keep looking to Him for guidance; even when times seem tough, He will be there to give you strength and courage.
God's love is never-ending and unconditional – have faith and trust that He has a plan for your life that will bring purpose, joy, peace, and comfort. Stand firm in your faith and keep looking to the hills - His help can move mountains!
Gratitude
In times of struggle, it can be hard to see the beauty in waiting and feeling uncertain. We may question why certain things are taking longer than we'd like or why our prayers haven't been answered yet. Gratitude can sometimes seem far away during these moments.
But it is still possible to cultivate a heart of gratitude even when the answers don’t come as quickly as we would like. Gratitude for what has been answered, for lessons we have learned, and for faith that God will ultimately provide can help us make meaning of our experiences - even if that meaning isn't immediately clear.
Finding gratitude in frustrated moments takes discipline and practice, but it is a worthy endeavor!
Where can you find gratitude in those moments today?
Today's Prayer
Lord, Help me to keep my eyes on You. It is my prayer that I will continually look for You in all circumstances in my life. Amen
