Enrollment for 23-24 Open Now!
Enrollment is now open for the 2023-24 school year, including for all incoming kindergartners. Children entering kindergarten must be age 5 on or before August 31, 2023, in order to register. We urge families to enroll early to support our placement process, and help us ensure that siblings can be placed at the same school. Anacortes is a non-boundary district; students are placed following certain criteria and guidelines, per our placement policy. Priority is given to families who enroll prior to May 15.
Information for incoming kindergartners can be found in our Kindergarten Enrollment Packet.

AHS Wall of Fame Update
The AHS Wall of Fame Council has been meeting and developing initial solutions. An additional meeting will be scheduled so the council can create a work plan and subgroup of council members to participate in an ongoing workgroup. In coordination with AHS athletic department, this workgroup will help implement a solution to complete the project in Fall 2023. During the meetings, the council members made some key discoveries. All Trophies, banners, and pictures are preserved. The community and current students desire to see themselves represented and reflected in this new school. Hence, it is important to give room for both and ensure the students know they are as much of a priority as the community. The council fostered a sense of community. Council member John Lovric said, “This has been a great opportunity to meet, spend time and talk with people across multiple generations and a range of perspectives.”

Student Assessment
Beginning the first week of March, students in second and fifth grade will take the CogAT (the Cognitive Abilities Test) screener. This test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and will help us to identify students who may be candidates to take the full battery exam in April. Please reach out to your child's teacher or to Heather Paddock if you have questions regarding the screener process: hpaddock@asd103.org or (360) 503-1224
Highly Capable Testing
The referral window for highly capable testing will open on March 6. Please check our website for the link. We will notify families if their student has been referred for testing, which will take place in the month of April, at the end of March.
Contact Heather Paddock if you have questions regarding the screener process: hpaddock@asd103.org or (360) 503-1224

Covid Dashboard
The online dashboard will take the place of the emails that families received last year when we had a positive case within our buildings. We encourage anyone with concerns, especially high risk individuals, to check the website on a regular basis.
