Plainfield School District News!
Welcome to the Season of Giving!
Happy December to all, and I hope everyone's getting ready to enjoy some much needed holiday vacation time! Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa to all families and to all the ways we celebrate each other!
At this giving time of year, I'm am truly grateful for everyone in the Plainfield community who continually give to help our schools be the best they can be. So many of you have volunteered for committees, come to meetings, and given your time to be part of the solution with us. When people in a community come together, hear each other, and go into positive problem solving as a team, we know that kids' futures will benefit. Thank you!
Below you'll find a few brief updates regarding our district happenings:

Surveys....Help us make our surveys meaningful!
As stated by the brilliant Jimmy Fallon..."A new survey out says that 64 percent of Americans own a smartphone. Which is interesting because in a related survey, 100 percent of smart phones say they own an American!"
Don't forget to complete your survey! The deadline is December 18th!
Upcoming Board Meeting:
The next regular meeting of the Plainfield School Board is Tuesday January 9th at 5:30 pm in the Plainfield School Music Room. When the zoom link is available, we'll add it below.
Budget and Annual Meeting Season
The SAU is well into developing our proposed budget for the Board to review. If you have ideas, suggestions, or thoughts about the budget or what will benefit PES, please be sure to get in touch with me, Mrs. Bucklin, or attend a Board meeting so we can hear directly from you. The Board will next review the FY (Fiscal Year) 2025 budget at their meeting on January 9, 2023 at 5:30.
We Strive to Have Informed Voters! If you'd like to know more about the school budgeting process, please take some time to watch the video of our community presentation on School Finance 101: How Your Local Schools Are funded in NH.
Education News from NH
As I send out these monthly newsletters, I'll be including information regarding education news from around the State of New Hampshire and our Department of Education (NHED).
The New Hampshire Legislature has already documented over 200 proposed bills relating to education. It's shaping up to be a very busy legislative season. If you're interested in learning more, please be sure to visit the NH Legislature page to see the full calendar and all drafts.
