First Week of School

We loved seeing our students back for Meet the Teacher. There is no doubt we will have a great 23-24 school year! As we prepare for the first day and week of school, I hope this newsletter will help answer any final questions you have. We promise to take great care of your little one! We love our PACK and are looking forward to our year together.

As we start the school year, please remember that arrival and dismissal procedures will take longer than normal. It takes time for the students and parents to learn the routines. During this time, your patience and understanding is key. Our number one priority is safety! Please click the link below to read the information regarding our arrival and dismissal procedures. This information will help new families become familiar with our procedures but also refresh the minds of our returning families.

We understand that if your child is new to LPS or just because it is the first day of school you may wish to walk your child to class on the first day. Below is the guidance for walking your child to class.

• PreK (3K and 4K) parents may walk students to class from August 1-4 and August 7&8.
• Parents of PreK (3K and 4K) students will be able park, use the crosswalk and walk their students to the front door all school year. Adults will be available for you to pass your child "off" and will make sure they make it to class safely.

• Kindergarten-2nd grade parents may walk students to class from August 1-4 (the first week).

If you plan to walk your child to class, you will need to park in the front parking lot and use the cross walk at the front of the school. Our staff will then guide or assist you where to go. Thank you for understanding the importance of following these guidelines as safety is our first priority.

If you plan for your student to use the bus this year, please fill out the 2023-2024 Student Transportation Form at the link below. This will help transportation plan for routes prior to the beginning of school. Please note that we will need to know the address for pick-up in the morning and the address for drop-off in the afternoon (especially if these are different from your home address). Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to our new online forms and data management service - FinalForms.

Earlier today (7/13/2023), we announced that it is time to begin the annual registration process for the 2023-2024 school year.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Use the email from FinalForms to register. CURRENT SDPC STUDENTS SHOULD NOT REGISTER AS A NEW STUDENT.

• You should have received an email from FinalForms like the one below sent to Darian Byrd regarding registering his SDPC Student.

• If you did not receive an email from FinalForms for your RETURNING SDPC student, please DO NOT register your student as a new student in FinalForms. Please Contact your child's school so they can assist you with gaining access to update your child's information.

Again, you should have received a confirmation email from FinalForms to begin registering your student(s). If you did not receive this email, please contact your child's school. Directory information is available here: School District of Pickens County Directory Information.

Please note that Liberty Primary starts school at 7:50 with doors opening to welcome students at 7:20. Students are considered tardy after 7:50. We will dismiss at 2:20 each day.

Tech It Home Fees will be collected from all students in grades K-2. Due to the increasing cost of our insurance on student devices, Tech It Home Fees will be $25 for the 2023-2024 school year. All K-2 students will receive a device to go home this school year. Devices are not to go home until the fee is paid and we have cleared students to begin taking them home. This fee may be paid by cash, check or on My School Bucks.
