We are off to a great start to the 2019-2020 school year. Counselors have checked in with students in every grade through classroom visits and have also met with many students individually. Counselors will continue to work with students throughout the year and every student is reminded to seek out their counselor when needed.

Welcome to the ninth grade! Whether you did well or not in middle school, high school is your time to shine. Take your education seriously. Work hard and develop good study habits. Do your homework and assignments consistently and on time, and when having difficulty, be sure to reach out to your teachers and/or counselor. Always put forth your best effort in all classes, as every grade counts towards your GPA. The next four years will go by quickly so get involved in activities and take charge of your education.

The college application process for the Class of 2020 is underway. Through classroom visits and 1:1 meetings, counselors will be working closely with seniors. Students should be finalizing their college list and working on applications. If applying Early Action/Early Decision, be sure to check in with your counselor ASAP. The deadline for EA/ED can be as early as November 1st. Be mindful of your deadlines as there will be many.

Remember to send your scores to colleges officially through the College Board.

Juniors and seniors are reminded that many colleges will be visiting WB in the fall. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about what these colleges have to offer. Keep checking the list under the guidance section of the school website to see who will be visiting and be sure to sign up in guidance.

Students, have you checked out MEFA Pathway? This is an interactive online tool that can help you with college and career exploration, resume building and scholarship search. It also features engaging assessments to help you discover your interests, skills and values.
