Principal Message
Dear Sequoia Families,
It has been great to have all our students back on campus and getting into the routine of things! On Monday we welcomed Gemma, a trained support dog, to give students some comfort during the day. Teachers held circles and classroom meetings, checked in on students and made sure we were all ready to learn. We are reminding students to take care of each other and themselves. I'm so glad to be back!
Tomorrow is Spirit Day! Students are encouraged to dress up in costume or in all green, Sequoia style! Our Fall Fun Fest is happening after school from 3-6pm and all are invited! There will be activities, games and the Pumpkin Fairy Godmother will be here to read stories and grant wishes! This is a free event courtesy of SPC. We would love to see you all there! (Not a drop off event, please plan to accompany your child)
Our school theme for this month is Curiosity. At our last school assembly I discussed with students what it means to be curious and to follow their curiosity when it is safe and kind. We remembered famous inventors who followed their curiosity to create things we can't imagine being without like the automobile, lightbulb and telephone. We ended with a video of a student who changed things for her town by following her curiosity (see the video below).
Hope to see you at Fall Fest tomorrow!
