This Friday is our first Friday School of the year. It is a REQUIRED attendance day for students with lower than a D in a course(s).
For parents/guardians who are signed up for Infinite Campus and notifications, you'll receive a notification on Tuesday morning if your child is REQUIRED to attend Friday School. Your students will receive a notification during 7th period on Tuesday. Typically, this notification is shared on Mondays, but due to the holiday, it will be Tuesday.
In the notification to parents and guardians, there is a sign-up for bus transportation. If your child needs bus transportation, you must use the link in the email to sign up for bus transportation by Tuesday's end of the day. It takes time to make routes and for drivers to be scheduled.
The Friday School day has the same drop-off procedures as a typical school day. The first bell rings at 7:54. Breakfast is offered before Friday School. Students may sign up for a sack lunch to take home.
Students are not allowed cell phones during their work time at Friday School. If a student needs to bring a cell phone, students are allowed to check their phones when they first arrive and pick them up when they leave. Cell phones are kept in the office.
After the first bell, students sign in at the front office. Students will be given missing assignment lists. Then, students go to the class they have lower than a D.
Most importantly, please remember students have till the end of the day on Thursday to improve their grade to above an F and not have to attend to Friday School. Students must pick up the Friday School Slip from the main office, have their teacher(s) sign off, and return the slip to the main office.

Student Leaving for Lunch?
1.) A student lives within three blocks of the school, has parent/guardian permission to walk home and back to school, and has signed the agreement in the Main Office.
2.) Parent/guardian checks their student out to leave the building.
We have seen a significant increase in parents/guardians of other students, siblings, family friends, etc. coming to WMS to pick up and take students to lunch. If a parent/guardian chooses to allow their student to leave campus to go to lunch with another adult, a written note is required to be given to the Main Office in advance.
Parents/guardians can join their students in our cafeteria for lunch as well!

The Academic Support Center is available for all our WMS students. Students utilize the Academic Support Center for various reasons.
- Forgot their homework or necessary resource at school- Come in early, get the resource, and work on it.
- Need some help on an assignment or questions about what you are learning in class- We have you covered!
- Need some support planning out an extended project- We love helping students get organized.
- Want a quiet place to complete school work- We have a supportive learning environment available.
- And the list goes on.
Students do not need to make an appointment or ask to come in. The Academic Support Cetner is available for anyone in the times noted above.
