"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

Last Team Leader (current and new) Meeting is Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:00 am in conference room
STAAR Math and Reading: It is all turned in now. We are waiting for a ruling from the commissioner on problems that happen for our students taking online Reading. It kept shutting down in the middle of testing. TEA will release the actual scores after June 15th. We will send a message home for 3rd and 4th grade students on how their parents can locate the scores upon release online versus waiting until first of next year. (Each student has a unique code to use.)
Senior Clap Off: What a wonderful event with over 50 honored seniors. We had so many seniors that made of point of saying how special the breakfast and clap off was for them. To see 700 students honoring them made them feel like rock stars. Thank you everyone for contributing.
End of the Year Parties: Please make sure to highlight the volunteers during your award ceremony. Due to afternoon cafeteria EOY programs, we will be moving lunch times up on Monday (May 21) and Tuesday (May 22).
Alternative schedule on those two days that changes times:
3rd Grade 10:30
4th Grade 11:00
2nd Grade 11:30
1st Grade 12:00
K Grade 12:30 (needs to be out of the cafeteria at 1:00)
* The custodians are coming in early to help clean up and set up for the afternoon awards.
Kindergarten and PK ceremonies took place on Friday. They were both fantastic! I couldn't help but tear up watching our little dragon perform for the last time.
4th Monday, May 21 8:30 (They will be outside for their 4th grade picnic celebration.)
1st Monday, May 21 1:45
2nd Tuesday, May 22 8:15
3rd Tuesday, May 22 1:45
Clean out lockers and send items home early in the week versus waiting until Wednesday.
Dr. Gerlach's new email is: suegerlach18@gmail.com (Easy to remember, my name and last 2 digits of year I retired.) I would love to hear from you in the future and send me pictures.
Daulton New Principal Interviews are completed. HR could take a name to the school board on Tuesday, May 22nd. I think it would be a great show of support, if some of the staff could attend the meeting. Once we know more, I will share it out.
PTA Fun Run Event and Spirit Nights: Our PTA wrote us a check for $8,000. WOW! This will allow us to purchase everything on our wish list. It will need to be taken care of once you return.
Thursday, May 24th: It is a work day for teachers. We will come together as a staff at 2:30 pm for our end of the year service awards/saying goodbye to some of our staff. It will be followed by my come and go retirement event. Then from 6:30-8:00 pm out in back of the school the PTA and parents are having a retirement event that will be kid oriented.
Friday, May 25th: It is a work day for teachers. I will start signing off sign out sheets at 8:00am, but will not collect sheets until 11:30 am. Since we are coming together on Thursday, we will not be doing our luncheon. I have an ARD at 2:00pm and will be unavailable during that time. So please have me sign off before 2:00 pm.
