Today we are giving a shoutout to our amazing 3rd grade teachers! Mrs. Padalino, Mrs. Norris, Ms. Sorrentino and Ms. Ruge! This is an awesome team! These teachers are always going above and beyond for each other and for their students. 3rd grade is a busy year! They are multiplying, reading, writing, and beginning to take the IAR test! These amazing teachers are doing a great job making sure their students are learning, laughing, and growing. We are so lucky to have these wonderful women teaching the 3rd graders here at Kolmar, thanks for all your hard work and dedication!

Between April 6 and April 22, students in grades 3-5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). The IAR is a state mandated assessment that includes 2 English Language Arts assessments and 3 Mathematics assessments. Each section of the test takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete.

Kolmar students are well prepared for the assessment, but please help your child do their very best by:

• ensuring that your child gets adequate sleep

• ensuring that your child eats a healthy breakfast

• assuring your child, that although all tests should be taken seriously, they should not stress but rather try their best

Tickets for the upcoming PTA Mother/Son event will be distributed (for those who registered) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Please stop by the blacktop on the south end of campus between 3:00 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on any of these days. Tickets that are not picked up on these days will be sent home with students on Friday, April 22.
