A Message from the Principal
Dear Eccles Families,
We had an exciting event this past Tuesday: Kindergarten Kick-off! We are actively preparing for the 2023-2024 school year and it is so exciting to welcome our newest members of the Eccles Community. We had 30 families attend! A big thank you to our staff who attended this evening event to welcome our students and families and begin what we know will be a long and positive relationship.
Elementary schools play such an important role in our children’s and family’s lives. We are proud to represent Eccles and let families know how excited we are to see them next year.
In other news, I am so impressed with the community support of our Jog-a-thon. Thank you! Our wonderful PTA has been counting your pledges all morning and will update us soon. I wonder if I will be getting dunked…
We’re hoping for better weather next week to run in, for all of our sake!
Sincerely,
Kelly

Curriculum Renewal Open House

Come learn about our curriculum renewal process, view potential instructional resources, and have the opportunity to ask questions about health and world language instruction in Canby. For those who wish to learn more about Oregon health and/or world languages standards ahead of the event, click the links to preview. We will hold two identical open houses at Ackerman Library from 5:30-7 p.m. on April 26 and May 2. Drop in at any time.
Join C.A.S.T. for Kids for a FREE fishing event for children with special needs!
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation enriches the lives of children with special needs, supports their families, and strengthens the communities through the sport of fishing. This year, they are hosting a new event to be held Saturday, May 20th at Kyllo Reservoir, a pond on private property just south of Canby. Fishing equipment is included and families are welcome.

Important Health Reminders
The following two items need to come to school with students each day:
- Water bottles - For health and sanitary reasons, the mouth spout of our drinking fountains have been turned off, but the water bottle filler is still on.
- Jackets
If your student is in need of assistance getting one of these items, we can help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the office staff at (503) 263-7120 or eccles-office@canby.k12.or.us.
Please remember to review our district and school health stay home guidelines. If you have any questions about whether a student should stay home, please don't hesitate to contact the office and we can put you in touch with our Health Assistant or District Nurse. We appreciate your help in keeping not only your student, but all other students, staff and families healthy this school year.
Meals at School
Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced-price meals, and we now offer expanded income guidelines to qualify more families. If you plan to have your child eat school-provided breakfast or lunch, please fill out a Meal Application online at https://www.ode.state.or.us/apps/frlapp - Our district ensures that our nutrition programs are easily accessible to all families.
