It has become a tradition for the principals to go into classrooms and read a story at the beginning of every year. This year we read the book, After the Fall, by Dan Santat, that told the story of how Humpty Dumpty got back up again. The lesson is to always try your best and to never give up.

We continue to look forward to an amazing year ahead. Today, classroom teachers kicked off our all-school fundraising event - the COLOR RUN! New this year, all students and staff will participate in the Color Run on October 7, which will be held during the school day. Please look for the flier with details which will be coming home with your student today.

Thinking Students...Changing the World!

If your student did not have their finger scanned for the hot lunch program, we will be scanning next week. HERE is the permission slip for you to print and send to school. We also have extra forms in the office.

In addition to calling the attendance line, you may now report or request your student's absence by logging into Infinite Campus, either through the Campus Parent App or from a computer.

Follow these simple steps...

• Once logged in, click More, then Absence Requests
• Select your student(s)
• Select the reason from the drop down
• Select the absence type
• Select the date(s)
• Add Comments
• Click Submit

Once a month, you will receive an email from Infinite Campus detailing your student’s attendance history. All families will be receiving this email even if their child has not been absent from school. This email is meant to be a communication between school and home. Good attendance habits in the early grades are strong predictors for future success in high school and beyond.

If you need to make a change in your student's regular dismissal plan, please fill out the YELLOW Note From Home and send it to school with your child. If the change is last minute or same day, please call the office, 262-971-1830, so we can get the message to your child's teacher.

We have packets of yellow notes in the office that you are welcome to keep at home.

If your child goes to Champions after school and you are switching to bus or parent pick-up, you must also contact Champions directly to make them aware of the change.

Due to no supervision on the playground before school, students may not be dropped off until 8:55am. The doors will open at 9:00am when the bell rings. In addition, students may not play on the equipment before school without supervision.

Students K-4th grade will be taking the Star Assessment between Sept. 3-17th. Star assessments help teachers better understand what students know and can do in the areas of early literacy, reading, or math.
