Principal's Corner- Mrs. Kohel

Dear Families,

The students and staff had a busy January finishing up the first semester. The teachers have worked hard to complete the first semester report cards so that families have information on their child's progress so far this year. Please go into Skyward and take a look at your child's report card. You can see their progress including their strengths and areas that need improvement.

Character Education

January and February will be focusing on respect. The students did some amazing work by completing activities in class around respect. We shared those examples with the whole school at our January Belle Fest! Ask your child- "What is respect?" Have them tell you what respect looks like at school, home and in our community!

Winter Weather

We have had periods of very cold temperatures over the last month. Please send your child with outdoor clothing each day assuming we will go outside. If the temperature allows, we will have outdoor recess when possible. We have a lot of hats and gloves in our lost and found. Encourage your child to check the lost and found for anything they might be missing.

Destination Imagination

AMY BELLE DESTIATNION IMAGINAION TEAMS

Amy Belle has two Destination Imagination teams this year. We thank all those that purchased Candy Cane Grams in December for our fund raiser. We had record sales this year. Money raised helps support the teams that advance on to the Global competition.

PTA Dinner with the Arts

Please join us at this year's Dinner With the Arts on Thursday, February 17th at Amy Belle Elementary School. Catered dinner with Marko's Pizza from 5-6:30PM, Art Show & Sale from 5-7PM, Class Basket & Golden Ticket Raffle from 5-7PM, and Variety Show at 7PM. Raffle winners will be announced after the Variety Show.

AB Soup Drive

Sponsored by the K-Kids! The "SOUP"er Bowl Challenge starts this Tuesday, February 1st through Friday, February 11th. Families/staff members can bring in a can of soup and VOTE for the team that you want to win.
All soup donations collected will be split between The Ronald McDonald House and St. Boniface/St. Gabriel Food Pantry.

PTA Movie Night

Join us for a PTA Movie Night on Friday, February 25 at 6:30PM in the Amy Belle Cafeteria. We will be watching the featured film, Horton Hears A Who, to kick-off our Wildcat In The Hat Read-a-thon Week. See flyers coming home later in February for more details.

PTA Read-a-thon

Let's get excited for our PTA Wildcat In The Hat Read-a-thon Week from February 28 to March 4!

Encourage students to set a reading goal for the week and foster the love of books through fun dress up days, Dr. Seuss Reading Bingo, donation pledges, and more. Be sure to register your student through the FundHub website to easily track donations and to win prizes. See flyers coming home later in February for more info!

PTA February Booster Night at Cafe Zupas

Please join the Amy Belle PTA at Cafe Zupas in Menomonee Falls from 4-9PM on Tuesday 2/22/22 for a booster event. Cafe Zupas will donate up to 25% of our purchases back to the school for dine-in, take-out and online orders. Be sure to mention Amy Belle when paying or use code FUNDRAISER25 for online orders.
