Have you ever dreamt about walking amongst animals in the wild like you were one of them? Have you ever wanted to swim with playful sea lions only to watch a penguin dart past chasing a fish? Have you ever wanted to go somewhere so wild and far away that the night sky lights up with stars and galaxies that you never knew existed? In the Galapagos, this is not a dream. This is reality.
Miss Holloway has partnered with Explorica by WorldStrides to craft a custom tour for Miscoe Hill students. We have chartered the beautiful Motor Yacht Coral I to cruise around the Galapagos Islands in comfort and style! Each day we will have the chance to hike and snorkel, seeing amazing wildlife above and below the water. Cruising is by far the BEST way to see Galapagos as the wildlife sightings are NON-STOP! Each morning we will wake up in a new location and will take the zodiacs out on sight-seeing excursions. We will also be able to look for wildlife like marine iguanas, orcas, humpback whales, sharks, birds and tons of other things every time we transit to a new location.
Students that are currently in the 6th and 7th grade are eligible to attend. We will be traveling over the April 2025 School Vacation. Easy monthly payment plans and fundraising opportunities are available to help make this trip accessible for all! Space is EXTREMELY LIMITED as we are restricted by the capacity of the boat. Spots will be released to students FIRST, and later to parents if space allows.
There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 3rd, at 7:00 PM via Zoom. Students will be able to sign up AFTER the meeting on a first-come, first-served basis. Spring registration for Travel (U10-U14, grades 3 and up) players for Spring 2024 is open and due by December 23rd, 2023. In-town registration is also open but is not due until much closer to the start of the Spring season.
Travel Program Notice:
As a reminder, we close the travel program much sooner than the in-town program. There is a lot more planning done within MUYSA and the league to get travel teams approved and schedules out on time. Ideally, we want as many players registered by 12/23/23. After that date, we will keep registration open until 1/6/24 but a late fee of $25 will be added to the registration. Once registration is closed, we will have a waitlist for each division but only if divisions need additional players. We will also monitor numbers in each division so we can do our best to balance roster numbers between teams. We are avoiding late adds once teams are created as it is additional work for our volunteers and the league in general.

Miscoe Hill Middle School is seeking substitute teachers who are interested in being part of the educational process for our students. Substitute teachers play an important role in the continuity of educational instruction for our children.
Needed on an as-needed, on call basis.
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible.
SALARY: $110 per day
