A Note from Dr. Hooks
Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,
As we prepare to head into winter break, I would like to thank the Hyde-Addison ES families for your grace and understanding through these unprecedented times. As a school community we have continued to persevere. You are appreciated! Over the break, please stay safe.
Thank you to all of the families who joined the Hybrid Learning Task Force Meeting, today. We shared a glimpse into Term 3 and the opening of an additional CARE classroom. After the winter break, we plan to host several additional family engagement opportunities, to discuss the reopen plan and instructional models.
- A 4th Grade Care Classroom is slated to open on January 6, 2021.
- Term 3 Begins on February 1, 2021. We are slated to offer 1 In-Person or CARE Classroom per grade (PK-5), based on feedback collected from families, staff and community stakeholders.
Final decisions on when DC Public Schools will offer in-person learning is not made by school leadership or at the school level and is directed by DCPS Central Office. We will continue to share next steps, as available. A link to DCPS Reopening plans is available under "Previous Updates".
Please keep you and your loved ones safe. For resources and information about the District of Columbia Government’s coronavirus (COVID-19) response and recovery efforts, please visit coronavirus.dc.gov. Please visit dcpsreopenstrong.com or backtoschool.dc.gov for DCPS virtual learning resources.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Calvin Hooks, Principal
