Valentine's Day!
We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in a couple of weeks. Making and receiving Valentine's Day cards is a big part of childhood memories. We would like to have this activity continue. However, this year we all recognize it, it will take a little more effort to ensure it is safe. After consulting with medical professionals, it was decided that this ritual can continue if the following guidelines are followed:
- Wash hands before writing out the cards
- Do not seal or lick envelopes to close
- Do not attach food or candy
- Cards must be given to your homeroom teacher in a ziplock bag by February 8
- Cards will be quarantined throughout the week and students will have them on February 12.
Diary Of A Chicken
Haley Bacon started a story back in April of 2020. Haley finished her masterpiece and shared it with me on Monday when we returned to school. It was quite the story and put a big smile on my face!

Staying Connected
The Hatherly School remains committed to connecting students learning remotely to the school. In this picture, classmates Guy Buckley and Avery Fitzsimmons take remote student, Liora Jackson, for a walk around the school. Liora was able to say hello to many Hatherly community members that she may not have encountered otherwise. Special thanks to Mrs. Burns for making experiences such as this happen.
Fifth graders have been working on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. In ELA/SS they have been learning about events that have led up to the American Revolution.
