Dear AESD Families,


I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well and as we set our sights on the week ahead, it's always a pleasure to share some updates and important information with all of you.


The following update is provided to keep you informed regarding the Anaheim Elementary School District:

October 13, 2023 -Global Day of Action

In recent days, you may have heard about a reported statement from a former Hamas leader calling for a global day of action on Friday, October 13. To ensure the safety of our schools, AESD has remained in close contact with the Anaheim Police Department.


APD has informed us that these statements are not indicative of any specific or credible threats to the Anaheim Elementary School District. We would like to assure you that APD and AESD staff will continue to monitor our campuses and communities closely, to support the safety of students and staff. We remain in close contact with law enforcement, and our district will be notified immediately of any developments.

Please know that AESD takes all safety concerns and threats seriously and we rely on the expertise of law enforcement agencies to assess and respond to these situations. We encourage you all to send your children to school tomorrow as research shows the connection between strong attendance and improved academic achievement for students.

Fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming learning environment for all students, remains our highest priority, and we appreciate your partnership and support as we navigate through these challenging times.

Every year on the third Thursday of October millions of people worldwide participate in an earthquake drill. During the week of October 16, each of our schools will also be conducting an earthquake drill. You can contact your child’s school for details. Please be assured that our staff is well-trained to respond to a disaster and keep your child safe. While your child is practicing at school, now is a good time to think about preparedness at home. The ready.gov website is a resource for families to create a plan for several different disasters and emergencies.

No school November 1, 2023 - District Professional Development Day

We would like to inform you that Wednesday, November 1, has been designated as a Districtwide Professional Development day for our dedicated educators. On this day, our teachers and staff will engage in valuable training and collaborative activities to further enhance the educational experience for your children. We encourage you to plan accordingly for alternative childcare arrangements on this day.
