From our School Psychologist
Welcome back everyone!
We hope you all had an opportunity to rest and enjoy your summer! We are excited to welcome new students, return students, and staff back to Tuscarora for the 2022-2023 school year! In a few weeks school will officially start and transitioning back can be a challenge for all of us. However, there are ways to make this transition easier and set up our students for success. Here are a few tips to help you and your teen transition back to school:
For Students:
Establish a school and study routine
Think about effective organization and time management skills
Print out, save a copy, and/or take a picture of your schedule
Know the new school hours: 9:30 a. m. - 4:18 p.m.
Explore clubs to connect with other students
Know when to take a break – healthy activities
Don’t be too hard on yourself – there will be ups and downs, successes and failures, and challenges that may pop up through the year, but use each opportunity to learn and grow. Doing so can help prepare you for the next challenge and only make you stronger.
Identify your trusted adults you can go to when you are experiencing a difficult time.. Who are you “Go-to’s” in school and who are you “Go-to’s” outside of school.
Explore the Unified Mental Health Team’s Schoology page for tips on managing stress and navigating the school year.
