We had an amazing week back from Fall Break! Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's virtual parent teacher conferences. We had many classes with 100% participation! If you missed your conference with your child's teacher it's not too late. Reach out to your teacher and we'll work out another time. We love sharing your child's progress and working closely with you, their biggest supporters!

At Eastridge, we do not dress up in costumes to celebrate Halloween. Although this year is a different in MANY ways, we will stick with this practice. Instead, next Friday, October 30th, will be a school spirit day: DRESS LIKE YOUR FAVORITE SUPER HERO!

We invite students to wear their favorite super hero gear (no face paint/masks/wigs) next Friday. Be creative! We'll use our super powers to make next Friday another awesome day!

On Tuesday, November 3rd, Warren Township will have a planned eLearning Day for our students across the district. On this day, your student will complete teacher designed extended learning activities at home.

In preparation for this eLearning Day, here is some general information for our families in advance.

• Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will bring home their extended learning activities (hands-on, paper-based) on Friday, Oct. 30 for use on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd.

• 3rd and 4th grade students will bring home their fully-charged iPads on Monday, Nov. 2 to be used on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Students will not bring home chargers. All devices must come back to school on Wednesday, Nov. 4. 3rd and 4th grade students will receive their eLearning activities on CANVAS from their teachers.

• Our FULLY VIRTUAL students will receive their extended learning activities on CANVAS from their teachers.

WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST AND LUNCH? All K-4 in-person students will be bringing home a breakfast and lunch meal on Monday, Nov. 2. Fully VIRTUAL students will have their AM and PM meal distribution at Moorhead Community Resource Center available to them as scheduled.

I DO NOT HAVE INTERNET AT MY HOUSE, HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Internet hotspots are available for 3rd and 4th grade families will need support ensuring their students can log in to their student’s CANVAS. If you would like to check out a hotspot, please give us a call by Oct. 30.

WILL MY TEACHER BE ABLE TO HELP ME IF I GET STUCK? All teachers will be available to support our students and families from 9am - 12pm on that day. A communication will be shared with you from your student’s teacher with how you can reach them during those hours on that day.

Attendance App: Please continue to work with you teacher as we are fine tuning the use of the attendance app and/or Canvas!

Picture Day: In early November, virtual students will be given the opportunity to have their picture taken. The virtual support team is working on what this will look like for families. Technology Support: Beginning Monday, October 26th the Moorhead technology help desk will move to door 11 at the rear of the building located near the playground. Please drive through the gate on the west side of the building and, after parking, enter door 11 for assistance. The Technology team will keep the same hours for the help desk: Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 11am to 1pm.

Virtual Student Materials Pick-up for quarter 2 was on Thursday, October 22nd. If we missed you, please call the front office at 317-532-3100 to make arrangements for pick up.

Our Eastridge PTA provides so much support for students, families, and staff. Please consider joining the PTA! It does not mean you must volunteer for events; however, joining the PTA allows you to advocate for your child and others.

Thank you for taking time each morning to screen your child before coming to school each day. Please continue to do so. Below are symptoms impacting consideration for exclusion from school:

● A fever of 100.0° F or greater

● Chills

● Cough

● Muscle or body aches

● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

● Headache

● Sore throat

● Congestion or runny nose

● Fatigue

● New loss of taste or smell

● Nausea or vomiting

● Diarrhea

Students and employees should be excluded from school if they test positive for COVID-19 or exhibit two or more of the symptoms of COVID-19 that are not otherwise explained based on ISDH / MCPHD guidance. If in doubt, please don't hesitate to call school at 317-532-3150 for some guidance. We appreciate your support in doing this important screening step each day before sending students to school.

For the 2020-2021 school year, Warren Township has transitioned to a new student information system called Synergy allowing our parents and caregivers to have improved access to school information through the parent portal called ParentVUE. We are aware that at his time some students’ attendance records are reflecting students are absent, when in fact they were present. This is mostly the case for our students who are attending school VIRTUALLY on application days or in the VIRTUAL opinion full-time. We want to assure you that teachers are keeping accurate attendance records and that we are working to correct attendance records for all our students.
