Heather L. Kutcher Named HCPS Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Last night during its scheduled business meeting, the Board of Education of Harford County approved the appointment of Heather L. Kutcher to the position of Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Harford County Public Schools (HCPS).
Ms. Kutcher takes on this new role following an experienced 24-year tenure in public education, during which she exemplified exceptional leadership and was met with great success.
Her career began in 1998 as an educator for Baltimore County Public Schools. She came to HCPS as an English Teacher and Department Chair at C. Milton Wright High School, and went on to become a Teacher Mentor at Joppatowne High School. Next, Ms. Kutcher served as a Teacher Specialist in the school system's Professional Development Office. Following that, she became Coordinator of Teacher Induction; Supervisor of Teacher Preparation and Professional Development; and then Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. In addition, she was an adjunct lecturer at Goucher College for several years.
Prior to her appointment yesterday evening, Ms. Kutcher was serving as Acting Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
