We're focused this summer on hiring new staff members to support our kids and community this fall.

Ever wonder what it's like to drive a bus? We followed Parkway Director of Transportation Will Rosa as he drove students home from school and asked him questions all about it. Click the image above to watch the full video.

Right now, we are short 15 bus drivers every day for Parkway students. Across the country and in Parkway, we currently have a bus driver shortage. This is having an impact on students right now, including:

• Some students are getting to school late.
• All of our bus mechanics, transportation office staff and other positions are helping by driving a bus each day.
  
  

We are at a critical point now. Our drivers and transportation department are working hard, but this workforce shortage is having a major impact. We must hire more bus drivers before we come back to school in August, or it changes how many students we can transport to school next year.

Our drivers say it's a rewarding job making a difference in the lives of children each day. No experience is necessary and we will pay you to learn how to drive a bus.

Want to positively impact the lives of kids while having fun at work? Adventure Club, Parkway's before/after care program operated by Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed, is currently hiring for the coming school year starting in August. Part-time positions include Activity Assistants, Activity Aides, Substitutes and Assistant Facilitators. With positions available at all Parkway elementary schools, you can work close to home (and save on gas!).

• Openings at all Parkway elementary schools
• Pay starts at $12.50/hr
• Pick your shifts (Monday-Friday) before and/or after school
• Work 5-19 hours per week
  
• No nights or weekends
• Perfect for college students needing a flexible schedule or adults wanting to earn extra income
• All training provided
  
• Paid time off for holidays, sick time and perfect attendance pay
