Fourth Grade Goes On A River Through History

Fourth graders recently took a field trip to A River Thru History- The Des Plaines Valley Rendezvous where they experienced a living history reanactment of early American life, as it was on the Illinois frontier. Students got to meet fur trappers, settlers and crafts men along the banks of the Des Plaines River.

Kangaroo Club

Jumping rope for young children is a difficult skill to master because of all the movements that must be timed alongside coordination. Ms. Gardner, Sward's PE student teacher, has incorporated a creative and successful way to develop jump roping skills in PE Class. Newspaper club has made a return to Kolmar and the students in the club couldn't be happier! Logan, a 5th grade student said "It's really fun to have an after school club, but it is really cool to have a chance to express our creativity".

OLHMS Cyber Safety Assembly

Last Thursday, September 22nd, OLHMS held its first all school assembly in the main gym! Guest speaker Detective John Bonarek has been in law enforcement for the past 25 years, and he has been working as a Cyber Crimes Investigator for the last 19 years of his career.
