A Message From Mr. Daw, Knox Principal
Future Knox Knight Parents,
I hope you are having a good day. This email is specifically for parents/guardians of students interested in trying out for either Color Guard or Gingham Girls during the 2020-2021 school year. With all the pandemic uncertainty, there is no way to know at this time when either tryout process will occur. These are very important programs to our students and the plan is to have tryouts for both organizations at the appropriate time, whenever that is.
With the current situation not allowing clinics/tryouts to occur, we need a list of students who are interested in potentially being in Color Guard or Gingham Girls.
If you would like your child to be considered for Color Guard or Gingham Girls in 2020-2021, here are steps and information to know:
Email your child's counselor on or preferably before Sunday, April 19th
The Counseling email addresses and assignments for 2020-2021are as follows:
A-F Mrs. Hollis phollis@conroeisd.net
G-N Mrs. Spencer kespencer@conroeisd.net
O-Z Mrs. Wheeler jawheeler@conroeisd.netClearly articulate via email to your child's counselor whether they are interested in trying out for Color Guard, Gingham Girls, or both.
An information session for parents/guardians/students interested in either organization will occur at an appropriate time.
We will work to formulate each child's schedule to minimize any changes regardless of when tryouts occur.
To be clear, emailing your child's counselor does not indicate your child is in either of these organizations... it simply alerts us that your child is interested in trying out, therefore allowing us to increase the chances they would not have any major changes to their schedules in the fall.
Take care and stay safe,
Joe Daw
A Message From the Knox Counselors
We want all of our families to know that even though we are having to run things a little differently, we are available to our students and families during this difficult time. Please know that we are working on a daily basis and do respond to our families within a 24 hour period.
It is that time of year where we need you to verify your child's Junior high course requests. A Course Request option is now available in Parent/Student Access under Student Plans. This is where you will find any and all changes that have been made/requested since we met with your student.
Course requests for 2020-2021 will only be found under the Course Request Tab under Student Plans.
Math Enrichment and Reading Enrichment are support courses utilized to assist students who have been identified as needing additional support in Math and/or Reading. If your student has been identified as needing these courses, these year-long courses will take the place of two semester electives.
Students have until May 1st to request any changes. Please send us all course change requests by email. If you make a course request change, please know the system updates every evening so you may not see changes in the system for 24 hours.
Again, we are here for you and happy to answer any questions that you might have.
