Mrs. Hong's Weekly Update
October 7th-October 11th
Speeches
Starting next week, we will begin preparing for our first class speech assignment! Inside your child's Friday folder, you’ll find a detailed letter outlining the expectations for the speech assignments. Please take a moment to review it with your child over the weekend. Your main role will be to help your child practice before their speech date, which will be provided ahead of time. Each speech assignment will include a handout that clearly explains the expectations and deadlines. All writing will be done in class, so the only homework will be to practice!
Math Tests
As you may have noticed, math tests are section quizzes rather than unit tests. Each unit is divided into three sections, resulting in three quizzes per unit. This approach allows for more frequent progress checks, rather than relying solely on a unit test at the end of each unit. Therefore, it is extremely important for students to get the practice they need by reviewing their study guides before each test!
Enrichment Form
The 5th-grade enrichment form was sent home today and can be found in your child's Friday folder. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me. Thank you for your continued support!
