Clear Touch Updates
A new update for the Clear Touch boards was released over the summer. It is important to update the Clear Touch boards to ensure that applications are working properly. It will also improve performance and patch any bugs with the software. To check a Clear Touch board for an update, go to settings and scroll down to system settings. Click on the updates icon and follow the prompts on the board. Plan for the update to take about 20 minutes to complete.
There is also an issue with some apps crashing upon opening. If this is happening, go to settings and click on apps. Select the app that is crashing and then click on storage. Tap on "Clear Storage" and confirm. Clearing the storage should allow the app to function correctly.

School-Parent Compact
The school-parent compact is a written agreement between teachers and parents and provides an opportunity to create new partnerships in your school community. Each Title I school must develop, with parent/family input, a school-specific agreement of how the parent/family, the school staff, and students share the responsibility for improved student achievement. Bringing together a team to talk about your school's needs and the shared responsibilities of your school community can be as important as the task of developing a compact.
Maximizing Learning Using Math Journals
Wright Elementary Instructional Math Coach, Ms. Barbata, provided teachers with a math reference resource that was attached to the front of student math journals. OneTitle I
student, Giovanni, completed an activity with writing numbers in multiple ways to include standard, word, and expanded forms. While completing the activity, he used the reference chart to remind himself what each form is and how each was represented. This quick reference increased his ability to work independently and be successful.

Goal Setting with i-Ready
How are you using i-Ready diagnostic results to set goals with students? Below are some examples of ways to set individual goals.
Learning goals may focus on a specific domain, benchmark or skill.
"I will master how to add two-digit numbers before the next assessment." "I will increase my sight words so that I can easily recognize them to improve fluency skills."
Growth goals focus on progress toward specific growth measures and/or domain improvements. “I will make more than 50 percent progress toward my Typical Growth measure on the second Diagnostic.” “I will move up one placement level in the Vocabulary domain in the next assessment.”
Goals can focus on effective habits that will help students improve.
“I will use scratch paper to show my work while completing math lessons.”
“I will practice reading my high-frequency words by decoding the soundspellings that I know so I can improve my fluency while reading.”
