G Suite for Education

Google is always changing, as you probably realized. Among the most recent changes is that GAFE (Google Apps for Education) is now known as G Suite for Education. Don't worry . . . this name change doesn't bring about a major change in tools. One thing to note, though, is that our RESEARCH tool is MIA! If you're missing it, you don't stand alone. Our district is in contact with the correct people to try to get it back. In the meantime, check out the EXPLORE feature.

Digital Resources

As you may know, we have many resources available to help you when it comes to lesson planning. Among the ones purchased by our district, you'll find NetTrekker, which is a safe search engine; Discovery Education, which is a conglomeration of high interest videos on various topics; and Brain Pop, which has a wide array of videos complete with quizzes. Are you using these resources in your classroom? Tell us about it!

Digital Learning Badges

So, do you remember when the TRE bill passed, meaning our district will finally have more funds for technology? You should also note that the campuses who show the most interest in technology, incorporate technology at various SAMR levels, and complete digital badges are going to be first on the list when it comes to getting their hands on new tech.


New badges have been added, and the old ones are still there. So, let's see you complete some! To get a badge mat or if you need additional help, contact Sarah in the library!

SMART 16.1 Update

Remember to update your SMART Notebook to 16.1 when you get the chance. This process is so easy, and you will definitely want access to the new tools that come with it. Tech Support does not have the personnel to update everyone's SMART Notebook, so follow these simple instructions to do the update yourself! Remember you will need to log in with Installer and the password for the week.


**Also, please remember that if you currently use the SMART Response clickers, they will not work with the new update.
