Myths of Middle School: Families should Not be Involved with the School

In education today, there is a decline in family involvement when students reach middle school. At WMS, we want to change that because strong school and family partnerships create...

  • Stronger social and emotional skills development
  • Enhanced student engagement (higher attendance rates and lower chronic absenteeism)
  • Improved academic outcomes (higher test scores and better grades)

One reason is that some families think students don't want their families involved and would be embarrassed. This is NOT true. Middle schoolers secretively take pride when their families are involved.


Another reason is that some families believe that with students' increased independence, families should distance their involvement. This is NOT true.


Together, we can accomplish ANYTHING! We want to work together with you!

VOLUNTEERS Needed for the 1st Annual WMS Back to School BASH!

We need volunteers to help prep before the event and need volunteers during the event.

WMS Main Office is OPEN!

If your student has fees from the 2022-2023 school year, come see us! Mrs. Ligher is at WMS and ready to assist. If your student has Chromebook or charging cord fees from last school year, he/she will not be loaned a device to use throughout the day or at home until those fees are paid.


Fee information can be found on Infinite Campus Parent Portal.


The Main Office is open from 8:00-4:00. The number is 406.377.2356.

WMS Fall Activities Parent/Guardian Meeting

We are combining the WMS and DCHS Fall Activities parent's meeting. We will begin in the DCHS Cafeteria at 6:30 with a general informational meeting, then break off into individual team meetings afterwards. Parents and participants are encouraged to attend.

Fall Sports Practice Schedules

If your student is interested in participating in a Fall Sport, all WMS sports teams will begin practice on Monday, August 14th. Below are the individual schedules for the week of the 14th. Coaches will have more information regarding practice times.
