It was a beautiful evening for Dragon Homecoming 2022. We crowned our 67th homecoming queen and our very first homecoming king. To top it all off, the Dragons defeated Decatur, 38-0!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the parade on Monday and throughout the week with dress-up days.

Thanks Jodin Davidson for coming back to campus to sell snow cones and thank you to the Dragon Athletics Booster Club for setting up at the high school to sell cotton candy and popcorn on Friday to the high school students. They loved it!

Homecoming Week 2022 was a great success!!

Thank you to everyone who made homecoming week fun and successful!

We started the week with the parade. Thank you to Silver Lining Trucking for allowing us to use your parking lot, the community for showing up to support our students, First Assembly for donating the chips, Pigeon Creek and Mountainburg Presbyterian for donating water, and Farm Credit for donating and cooking hot dogs.

On Friday, the day was started at the elementary with a pep rally and ended the day at MHS for the homecoming dance. To all of the teachers at MHS, thank you for your teamwork to make a wonderful day for our students.

Congratulations to the following Dragons for scoring EXCEEDING in all four areas of the ACT Aspire! Jacob, Rayna, Cason, Noah, Anna, Clara, Brady, and Mitchell! (Not pictured: Sykora) we are so proud of your hard work!

Check out the projects and group work in Mr. Gregory’s classes. Great job, Dragons!

Mrs. Daniel will be sponsoring FAFSA Work Night on Thursday, October 13, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM. Taylor Risinger from ATU-Ozark will be on hand to assist parents. Mrs. Christian will have her lab open for parents and seniors to come in to get assistance from Taylor.

The seniors will be setting up their FAFSA id's in Mrs. Christian's class this week.

For those who can't make it on October 13, but would like to have some assistance, please email Mrs. Daniel or Mrs. Christian for Taylor's contact information.

Cold and flu season is right around the corner, Dragons.

Here are a few helpful tips to keep you healthy this year:

• Wash your hands with soap and water when available. Hand sanitizers work well in a pinch, but nothing beats the old fashioned way.
• Don’t touch your face. Viruses can live on skin much longer than most people realize.
• Eat right, excercise, and stay well rested. Your body can’t fight off sickness if it’s not given the right tools.
• If you’re able, getting vaccinated can help stop the flu before it starts by building antibodies in the body to act as a line of defense against the virus. (The flu clinic for students and staff is Wednesday, October 5!)

The Jr. High Football game scheduled to be played here on Thursday, October 6 against Magazine has been moved to Tuesday, October 4. The game will start at 6:00 PM.

There will not be a 7th grade game. Magazine does not have a 7th grade team.

A group of parents have come together to form the Dragon Athletics Booster Club. If you are interested in joining, please email dragonsathleticboosterclub@gmail.com or contact the organization through the Facebook page - Dragon Athletics Booster Club.

This will be a great way to support 7th - 12th grade Dragon athletes and programs. Membership is $20 per family this year.

The Mountainburg Board of Education meets once a month unless a special meeting is needed. A study session will be held at 5:15 and the business session will be at 6:00 PM. Meetings are held downstairs in the Mountainburg Administration Building.
