Patriot Peek at the Week News
December 6th-10th
Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,
There are many important happenings going on at Wolf Ridge this coming week. Please see below for more information about the vaccination clinic that will take place on Monday after school and weekly Covid Shield Screenings that will take place each Wednesday morning starting Wednesday, December 8th. Your child will not be tested/screened unless the paperwork was signed and permission was given. I have provided information below about how to confirm whether or not your child is signed up and how to opt your child in for testing if you have not already returned the authorization paperwork. This is just one of the many things we are doing to try to prevent the spread of illness in our schools and keep students learning in-person. As always, please email me at sronen@bhcusd.org with any questions or concerns. I value your feedback and partnership.

COVID VACCINE CLINIC AND SHIELD TESTING
SHIELD ILLINOIS SALIVIA-BASED SCREENINGS FOR COVID:
Earlier this year, parents were asked if they would like to "opt in" their child/ren to participate in a proactive saliva-based screening test with Shield Illinois. Due to the overwhelming demand for their services, they have been extremely slow in entering new schools. I am pleased to announce that our first weekly Shield test will begin next Wednesday, December 8 beginning at 8:30 AM at Wolf Ridge and immediately after that at BHHS. We currently have about 169 students and a number of staff participating in this weekly test.
Since this has been awhile since we collected those forms, if you turned one in for your child, please remind them that they will begin this testing next Wednesday. If you are interested in "opting in" to this additional testing, which will also help us maintain extracurriculars and in-person learning even during outbreaks, please return the consent form to your child's school.
If you cannot recall if you signed your child up, please contact your child's school to verify. The office also has additional printed forms that can be sent home with your child if you request one. Below is a picture of the information that was included on the consent forms.
Please see the message below from our community partners at the Macoupin County Public Health Dept:
Our teams will be back in each of the 8 school districts to give COVID19 vaccines starting Friday, Dec. 3rd through Friday, Dec. 10th. If you take a call from someone who needs assistance registering, please ask them to call our COVID19 Command Center at 217-313-5078.
In addition to the 5-11 year-old doses, these clinics are open to anyone who needs a first dose, a second dose, a third dose, or a booster.
The date and time for the clinic for Bunker Hill will be Monday 12/6 from 3 - 4 p.m. Only those that preregister will be able to receive the vaccination. Proof of authorization and registration will be checked at the time of your appointment.
Thank you for your Donations!
Thank you for your donations of canned food items for our food drive. Ms. McLaughlin's class earned a pizza party for donating the most items. They donated over 150 items.
