A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had a great week, and is looking forward to the weekend ahead. With the fourth marking period underway, now is a great time to have conversations with your students about managing their various different responsibilities. I am sure that many of our students participate in numerous activities outside of school that take up a significant amount of time. It is incredibly valuable to know how to manage time, and understand what things take priority in life. It is also a great time to have conversations with your child about what an appropriate amount of time to spend on their various responsibilities and activities is. I know it is common for middle school students to prioritize socialization and technology time over all things and spend exorbitant amounts of time doing both. It is also possible that some students spend more time on academics than they should, causing them to worry about the potential of not achieving near-perfect grades. Check out this awesome article about conversations to have with your child regarding achievement, and try some of the conversation starters listed at the end. Have a great weekend!!
