First Day of School
- August 31 - First Day for Grades 6-12
- September 1 - First Day for Grades 1-5
- September 2 - First Day for PK-K
Arrival at Reading Elementary School
When our elementary student arrives at school they will enter the building through the designated door (see below) with their mask on while maintaining physical distancing. No visitors or parents/guardians are permitted to walk students into the building.
Drivers/Walkers:
Kindergarten - classroom doors/courtyard playground
Grade 1 - first-grade hall door
Grades 2-5 - main office doors
Grades 3-4 - playground doors
Bus riders:
Drop off by main office and will enter door with your grade
Each student will have their temperature taken by staff in hallways prior to entering classrooms. As long as their temperature is below 100°F, students will enter the classroom.
AM Session:
8:20-11:20 (Doors open at 8:05 a.m.)
PM Session:
12:30-3:30 (Doors will be open at 12:15 p.m.)

Food Service Update--Breakfast/Lunch Information
Reading Community City School District will be providing breakfast and lunch packs for all students, both remote and AM/PM learners. All meals will be “grab and go” and consumed away from school. Menus for the month will be posted online at www.readingschools.org.
AM Session
At meal pick up, AM students will bring home lunch for the day and breakfast food for the following day. Both hot and cold meal selections will be offered. Two sets of meals will be provided on Tuesdays.
PM Session
Our PM learners will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch for the following day. All PM meals will be cold and must be refrigerated as soon as possible. Two sets of meals will be provided on Tuesdays.
Remote Learners
Packs of five breakfasts and five lunches for remote learners will be distributed each Wednesday at Reading High School’s front circle parking lot from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Students who are free/reduced lunch eligible will be provided lunches based on their eligibility.
Students who are not free/reduced lunch will be able to pick up a meal pack for a fee (charged to the student’s lunch balances). Cost for paying students (remote learners): Elementary meals-$17.25 and RMS and RHS-$18.50 (5 breakfast and 5 lunches). Go to EZPay to add money to your lunch account.
Please fill out the form below by Monday, August 31, if you would like your student to receive the remote breakfast-lunch packs. If you have multiple children, please fill out a separate form for each child. This request form is for Remote Learners only. First meal pick up for Remote Learners is Wednesday, September 2, 2020, from 11:30-12:30 p.m.

Lunch ID Card
- ALL students will use an ID card at point of service to pull up each lunch account. Cards will be distributed the first week of school.
- Students can pay with cash, check or through EZPay
- Menus for the month will be posted under the Food Service Department at www.readingschools.org.
Free and Reduced Lunch
Students who are free/reduced lunch eligible will be provided lunches based on their eligibility.
Please fill out a 2020-2021 free and reduced form if you have not received a direct certification approval letter.

Athletics Update: 2020 Fall Spectator Guide
Based on Governor DeWine's orders, our athletic department has put protocols in place at Reading School District athletic venues for the safety of our student-athletes, staff, and fans. Please go to the 2020 Fall Spectator Guide below for details. Due to strict capacity limits, no booster passes or other passes will be accepted this year.
